A migraine attack is very unpredictable. It's like a roller coaster ride that you didn't sign up for.

Today I'm going to talk about my experience with BOTOX^® Chronic Migraine.

Hi, I'm Joe Coe and I'm a BOTOX^® Chronic Migraine patient.

I first started experiencing migraine attacks when I was a young person. My mother noticed that I was feeling off, gave me a cold rag, told me to go to my room and close my blinds and lay down.

As I got older, I would have more frequent migraine attacks. One night, I was having a really bad attack.

I knew I needed help. So I managed to get myself to a clinic and the doctor came in and was like, "You have Chronic Migraine." I had no idea it wasn't normal to have a regular headache.

Living with Chronic Migraine made me do a lot of reflection on all the invisible battles that people are fighting every day.

It's not weak talking about your disease. If you're struggling being heard, there's a couple of things that you could do.

Maybe it's going to the appointment a little bit more prepared, having clear notes, and have that open communication with the doctor.

The journey to get on the right treatment was a long one.

If I could do it all over again, I would say, Joe, you need to take the initiative to find the right doctor, find the right treatment. Stick with it, because in the end it will be worth it.

If you've never had a migraine attack, I'm here to tell you it's not just a bad headache. It is debilitating.

Life is very unpredictable with Chronic Migraine.

You don't know when you're gonna have a migraine attack. You don't know if you're gonna have a good day or a bad day. The pressure is very intense. I need to be in my bed, in the quiet, alone, in the dark trying to get through it.

My mom also suffers from Chronic Migraine, and it's really hard as a child to watch your mom suffer.

We have a 10-year-old son, and I don't want him to feel the way I felt. I don't want him to have those memories.

The first time that I had a migraine attack, I was much younger. I was living in Maryland. It's more of a rural town.

Years later, I spread my wings, and I moved to Los Angeles, and I was still having headaches and migraine attacks for about half the month.

I saw a new doctor who, for the first time, told me I have Chronic Migraine. I was shocked.

I didn't realize it was an actual disorder that you could get a diagnosis for and that there were options for real treatment. A couple of years ago, I saw a neurologist.
