Could it be Chronic Migraine?

For Katie, Chronic Migraine meant canceling plans and disappearing into a dark room. But then, she found an option.

Please see Important Safety Information, including Boxed Warning, within this video and .

Katie:

If you’ve never had a migraine attack, I’m here to tell you it’s not just a bad headache. It is debilitating.

Just getting my hair and makeup done.

I hope my story helps other people struggling not feel so alone.

Let’s roll.

I’m Katie Zamprioli and I’m a BOTOX® Chronic Migraine patient.

On Screen:

Katie is an actual BOTOX® patient who was on prescribed therapy when she provided her testimonial. Changes in therapy status may have occurred since that time. Katie was compensated by AbbVie for sharing her story.

Katie:

Life is very unpredictable with Chronic Migraine.

You don’t know when you’re gonna have a migraine attack. You don’t know if you’re gonna have a good day or a bad day. The pressure is very intense. I need to be in my bed, in the quiet, alone, in the dark trying to get through it.

My mom also suffers from Chronic Migraine, and it’s really hard as a child to watch your mom suffer.

We have a 10-year-old son, and I don’t want him to feel the way I felt. I don't want him to have those memories.

The first time that I had a migraine attack, I was much younger. I was living in Maryland. It's more of a rural town.

Years later, I spread my wings, and I moved to Los Angeles, and I was still having headaches and migraine attacks for about half the month.

I saw a new doctor who, for the first time, told me I have Chronic Migraine. I was shocked.

I didn’t realize it was an actual disorder that you could get a diagnosis for and that there were options for real treatment. A couple of years ago, I saw a neurologist.

He suggested that I try BOTOX®. When I heard the word BOTOX®, I was surprised.

Katie:

He told me to read up on it and that it was 31 injections in the head and neck, 4 times a year. That works for me.

On Screen:

BOTOX® treatments are 31 small, shallow injections into 7 muscle groups in the head and neck areas that may be associated with Chronic Migraine.

Katie:

I was nervous going into it. I didn't really know exactly what to expect or how painful it was gonna be...

On Screen:

BOTOX® starts with 2 treatments, 12 weeks apart, then 12 weeks thereafter in a doctor's office.

Katie:

...but they were like 31 little pinches, then it takes about 10 minutes.

Katie:

I have a great relationship with my doctor. I’m so happy that he suggested BOTOX®, that I have fewer migraine attacks every month. And I will forever be grateful to him for that.

On Screen:

BOTOX® prevents, on average, 8 to 9 headache days and migraine/probable migraine days a month (vs 6 to 7 for placebo) at 24 weeks.

Katie:

My advice for others considering BOTOX® for Chronic Migraine is to find a doctor that you trust and ask them about it.

It has been so helpful for me, and I hope that it will be helpful for you, too.
